Your child will need an ESV Bible, a composition book for their journal, a binder to keep hand- outs and materials, and a pencil EVERY SINGLE DAY. Having materials is an expectation for participation in class.
We may need markers, highlighters, or colored pencils as needed.
Families: What I have listed below is NOT DUE NOW! Please don't worry about it. We will discuss it when school starts. It is NOT a summer assignment. I was just trying to learn the new computer system and I practiced uploading an assignment. THIS IS NOT DUE NOW. I will go over stuff with kids once we start class.
Getting to Know You - 7th and 8th
This week we are getting to know each other and finding out what our class is all about. We will complete collages that we will be displaying in our room. Here are the requirements the students received in class:
On an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, you will design a vertical
collage that tells about you. Your
collage should include:

A close up 4x6 picture of you (approximately)

A picture of three books that have influenced
you
·
A picture of something you love to do
·
A picture of something you love to eat
·
A picture of people you love
·
A verse that inspires you
·
Your full name
You may use digital images from the computer, cut and paste
images from other sources, or draw things yourself. These will be displayed so please show
effort, attention to detail and some creativity. You may laminate it if you wish, but it is
not required. Please write your full name and your period on the back of the
collage.
COLLAGE PROJECTS ARE DUE ON YOUR BLOCK DAY THIS WEEK.
Books of the Bible- 7th and 8th We will also begin memorizing the books of the Bible in order and with the correct spelling. 7th graders will memorize the New Testament. 8th graders will memorize the Old Testament. We will have a quiz on this next week. We will do some activities in class to help memorize but you will also have to work at home.
